LinkedIn has a built-in scheduler. On a personal profile you can schedule a post from 10 minutes to 3 months ahead; for a Page the window starts at one hour. This guide gives the steps for both, shows where scheduled posts are kept, and lists what LinkedIn's Help Center says you cannot schedule.
Yes, you can schedule LinkedIn posts without any other app. Click Start a post, write the post, click the clock icon, pick a date and time, click Next, then click Schedule. On a personal profile the time can be anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 months away. To see your LinkedIn scheduled posts afterwards, open the same clock icon and choose View all scheduled posts.
LinkedIn treats profiles and Pages differently, so check which one you are posting as.
Profile and Page rules side by side
| Personal profile | LinkedIn Page | |
|---|---|---|
| Who can schedule | A member posting from their own homepage | Super admins and content admins |
| Earliest and latest time | 10 minutes to 3 months from now | One hour to three months from now |
| Cannot be scheduled | Events, jobs | Events, multiple photos, reshares, polls, jobs, service posts |
| Time zone | Converted to UTC from your device's time zone setting | "Based on your location" |
| After scheduling | Reschedule, edit or delete | Post now, edit, reschedule or delete |
These come from separate LinkedIn Help pages. The profile page was labeled "Last updated: 1 week ago" when this guide was checked; the Page pages were labeled 11 months ago. If the scheduling window you see differs from the table, trust the screen.
How to schedule a post on your profile
On a computer:
- Click Start a post at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
- Write the post.
- Click the clock icon in the lower-right corner.
- In the Schedule post window, choose the date and time. The dropdown moves in 30-minute steps, but you can type an exact time instead.
- Click Next. The scheduled date and time now appear above the post.
- Click Schedule. A confirmation appears at the lower left of the page.
In the mobile app:
- Tap Post in the navigation bar.
- Write the post.
- Tap the clock icon in the upper-right corner.
- Choose the date and time, then tap Next.
- Tap Schedule.
Changed your mind before confirming? Click or tap Edit next to the time above the post, then Clear time (Clear on mobile). Then click Post to publish right away, or close the window to discard the post.
How to schedule a post for a Page
You need to be a super admin or a content admin of the Page.
- Open the Page's admin view and click Page posts in the left menu.
- Click Start a post.
- Click the clock icon in the lower right and choose a date and time, from one hour to three months ahead. You can type an exact time.
- Click Next, finish the post, then click Schedule.
On mobile, open the Page's admin view, tap Dashboard in the upper-left corner, choose Page posts, then tap Post. The clock icon and Schedule are in the upper-right corner.
LinkedIn says a scheduled Page post is published automatically at the set date and time, and that you can schedule a post or a newsletter article. Other admins of the Page can see, edit, reschedule and delete the posts you schedule, so check the queue before assuming a post is unchanged. If an admin is removed from the Page, the posts they scheduled go to the admin who removed them. A scheduled Page post also cannot be promoted from Campaign Manager's Browse existing content option until it has been published.
How to see scheduled posts on LinkedIn
LinkedIn keeps the queue behind the clock icon in the post window.
On a computer:
- Click Start a post. If you have scheduled posts, a number badge appears next to the clock icon.
- Click the clock icon.
- Click View all scheduled posts in the lower-left corner. The Scheduled posts page shows a preview of each one.
On mobile: tap Post, tap the clock icon, then tap View all.
For a Page, do the same from Page posts in the admin view, which shows the Page's queue and not your own.
Posts you scheduled through a third-party scheduling tool are not covered by LinkedIn's Help pages, so check that tool's own calendar for them.
Edit, reschedule or delete a scheduled post
Open the scheduled posts list, then:
- To edit or reschedule a profile post, click the More icon in the upper right of the post and choose Modify schedule or Edit post.
- To delete it, click the Delete icon next to the post, then confirm.
- On a Page, the More icon also offers Post now. Deleting a Page post is permanent: LinkedIn says you cannot recover a deleted post.
If you only need a different time, reschedule instead of deleting. LinkedIn's own tip for Pages is the same.
What the Help Center does not say
- A cap on queued posts. Some guides quote a number, such as 50. LinkedIn's Help pages for scheduling state none, so this guide does not either.
- Which profile post types work. For profiles, LinkedIn lists only events and jobs as unsupported, and does not say whether other types, such as polls or documents, work with scheduling. To check, schedule a post of the type you want an hour or two ahead and confirm it appears in the queue. For Pages, polls and multiple photos are excluded.
- Whether the clock icon appears for every account. The Help pages do not say.
Two details are worth planning around. Profile times convert to UTC from your device's time zone setting, so if you travel, check the time zone on your phone or computer before you schedule. And LinkedIn's post help says it may limit the visibility of posts when it detects excessive post creation that indicates inauthentic activity or the use of an automation tool. That sentence does not mention scheduling.

If you want to schedule a multi-page document post, the format people call a LinkedIn carousel, the file rules and upload steps are in the LinkedIn carousel guide. Image sizes for a scheduled photo post are in the LinkedIn post size guide. To style the text before you schedule it, try the free LinkedIn text formatter, and read its accessibility note first. If you also post on other networks, the steps differ on Instagram and Facebook.

Frequently asked questions
Can I schedule LinkedIn posts?
Yes. LinkedIn has a built-in scheduler for personal profiles and, for super admins and content admins, for Pages. Use the clock icon in the post window.
How far ahead can I schedule a LinkedIn post?
Up to 3 months. The earliest time is 10 minutes from now for a profile post and one hour from now for a Page post.
How do I see scheduled posts on LinkedIn?
Click Start a post (tap Post in the app), then click the clock icon and choose View all scheduled posts (View all on mobile). A badge on the clock icon shows how many are queued.
Can I edit a scheduled post?
Yes. In the scheduled posts list, open the More icon on the post and choose Edit post to change the content or Modify schedule to change the time. Page admins see the same options.
What time zone does the schedule use?
For a profile, LinkedIn converts the time you pick to UTC based on your device's time zone settings. For a Page, its Help page says the time is based on your location.
Can I schedule a poll, video or document post?
LinkedIn's profile page lists only events and jobs as unsupported, so these are not excluded there. For Pages, polls and multiple-photo posts cannot be scheduled. The Help pages do not confirm each media type, so test one before relying on it.
Can I schedule a post in a LinkedIn group?
LinkedIn's scheduling pages do not mention groups, so this guide cannot confirm it.
Is there a limit on how many posts I can schedule?
LinkedIn's Help pages do not give a number. They do say LinkedIn may limit how many posts a member or Page can make in a period, which can depend on account signals.
